OBSESSED

Published: Mon, 07/25/16

Hi ,

For once, I am not talking about being obsessed with food, ha!

Instead, I want you to do something for me. Something that I promise will get you so effing pumped to train hard and be consistent with your exercise:

GO HERE RIGHT NOW and read all these amazing inspirational stories from last year’s #20x20Challenge!

I spent 15 minutes yesterday re-reading all these amazing stories from women in last year’s free challenge, and I am OBSESSED.

It almost made me want to go work out AGAIN today because you see, being consistent with your fitness isn’t completely about making a ton of changes in your physique (it certainly happens), but it’s about something else entirely.

Being consistent with your training is a sign to your higher self that YOU are worth committing to.

Training with weights, lifting heavy stuff and getting to leave the gym (or your living room!) covered in sweat is a badge of honor that you are doubling-down on you.

One of my favorite reminders: When life hands you some heavy shit, lift some heavy shit.

I will always be grateful for the iron.

It’s always there for you when you need it.

Feeling out of your power? Train hard.

Feeling down? Lift some stuff.

Feeling up? Crush it at the gym.

Feeling like your life/body/relationship/career is out of your control? Double down on you in the best way possible and show your higher self that you are worth working hard for. Even just physically, if you can’t elicit the mental or emotional fortitude quite yet.

Sometimes we aren’t ready to deal with something emotionally. But when you commit to training—just start with that—your physical strength begets emotional strength. You feel more in your power and you feel more capable, balanced and equipped as a result, to handle whatever comes up.

If you have never experienced the sheer empowerment and the sense of accomplishment you feel when you have been lifting heavy regularly, you are missing out!

So in this short email today, I just wanted to share a little love letter to weight training for you.

Sure, I love some intense cardio too, but there’s nothing like strength training to elevate your game.

I’ve been training with weights since I was 16, and almost 2 decades later, I am still committed, because there is always somewhere new to go: new exercises to learn, new intensities to reach, new PRs to hit and new movement patterns to develop! It's the best!

SO. I hope you’ll join me for this year’s FREE #20x20Challenge, which begins a week from today. You can enroll for free HERE.

The goal is simple: complete twenty 20-minute workouts in the 31 days of August.

You’ll get more details on how to participate once you enroll (it's super easy), and you’ll receive your first set of workouts from me on Sunday, via email (all 20 minutes, all dumbbell-based).

And once you register, it would be a huge favor to me if you’d forward this email to one friend who you think could use a physical (and subsequent emotional) boost to commit, too. We will all do it together.

The community last year was electric! I spent, no joke, 2+ hours a day going through posts, reading them, Liking them and commenting on them. And I can’t wait to do it again!

Begins August 1st.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Xo,
Jill
