Hey ,
Years back, one Thanksgiving, I went to the gym 3 times.
As in, 3 times on that single day. Once in the morning first thing. Then right before dinner. And then later after dinner.
I was staying with family and using a guest pass at a local gym, and honestly I think they were not only confused but horrified.
Now that I’m years removed from my obsessive exercising and dieting, I too, am confused as to what the heck I was doing. Lol.
But you know what? I’m grateful for that time.
I actually think it’s a lot harder to arrive at moderation without having experienced extremes at some point. But gosh, I am glad I’m no longer there.
The ironic thing is that I didn’t look all that much different than I do now.
A quick progress pic I took yesterday (Thanksgiving 2018):
For all the obsession and hours spent and mental energy devoured by trying to eat perfectly and exercise off every calorie I consumed, it didn’t actually work.
The control I was seeking wasn’t actually working to get me leaner or help me like myself more. It was a never-ending journey of using exercise and diet to feel good enough.
Never worked.
Now I train 20-30 minutes a day. Weight-training mostly, a few sprints throw in. Minimum effective dose for health, muscle gain/maintenance and so that my clothes will just zip up. Literally, that’s it.
I do Finishers like the one I sent you last Monday.
I do the 10, 15 and 20-minute metabolic conditioning workouts contained in #PhysiqueFinishers.
I do the quickie hypertrophy, metcons and sprint workouts contained in the Total Training Experience (TTE).
And it feels really good to feel good enough.
It feels mentally manageable to train for a short amount of time, but intensely. It feels good to see muscle definition and feel strong.
It feels good to have my life back.
If you’re in to making the switch with me, consider enrolling in my 52-Week Total Training Experience—over 50 full-length workouts, all 20 minutes or less, where I’m personally training you right in your ear.
