the "12 x Twelve" workout for at home

Published: Fri, 12/21/12

Hi ,

Recently, I worked with an editor at Womens Health magazine on a workout for the new year. She asked a bunch of fitness experts to give her a workout that she could do at home to help build muscle and lose fat, to feature in a 2013 WH issue.

I pitched her a simple 4-exercise workout. She was to circuit the exercises for 20 minutes, using movements that encompassed several muscle groups, similar to Metabolic Effect's Spark Workout. She wrote back to say that out of all the workouts she received, she chose to feature mine because it was SIMPLE, easy to follow and she got great results.

Contrary to popular belief, the best workouts are actually not the most complicated ones. If you did push-ups, heavy squats, pull-ups and walking lunges only, for 20 minutes, would that not be effective?? ...ouch! :)

So, I know many of you might be traveling next week, and though your usual schedule might be thrown off, it doesn't mean you can't do something

So, I hope you will try out the workout I've attached for you. It's a quickie 20-minute workout called "12 by Twelve," that you can do anywhere, no equipment needed--hotel room, parents' house, living room, rest stop, wherever!

Do this workout 3 times next week, alternating days. And on the opposite days, go for a long, leisure walk, 30-60 minutes. That's it! As always... do your best, because that's all you can do!

Have a great week, and don't forget to check in with me :)
