how I got introduced to Metabolic Effect (+ a free workout for you)

Hi ,

You may not know this, but Metabolic Effect, a fitness and fat loss company co-founded by my husband Jade Teta, started as an local outdoor boot camp here in Winston-Salem, NC with a handful of people. Now, of course, it's an international company that trains trainers in unique exercise methods, holds nutrition certifications and delivers many incredibly effective online fat loss programs to thousands of people every year over the internet.

I have been lucky to have been on this journey for the last 9 years, too, and I am grateful for the chance to have watched it grow and influence so many lives.

But it wasn't always easy. And it certainly wasn't always glamorous.

In fact, I was recounting earlier today the story of when I first met Jade and he introduced me to his concepts. It's actually a funny story and I want to share it with you.

I was 24 at the time, a full-time group fitness instructor and personal trainer. I loved exercise with a passion, often doing multiple workouts a day, but I was also eating with abandon! I didn't pay any attention to my nutrition at all and, as many do in those first years out of college, still very much ate "the college way," living on pizza, bagels, burritos, chips and salsa, Wendy's and lots and lots of Bud Light :-\

And so, wasn't it ironic that the day I was supposed to meet Jade for the very first time and have a chat about this new exercise program he recently created (he wanted to pitch me on becoming ME's first instructor!), I WAS SO HUNGOVER.

Yes. Sadly, I was really hurting. And Jade had set the meeting for a Sunday morning at 9am, and I so, soooooooo did not want to go! I moaned and groaned and dragged myself there, certainly with no inclination to care about my looks, ha! But I went nonetheless.

And all I can say is, I'm freaking glad I did :)

Jade told me about a training method called, "Rest-based Training" (RBT) where participants in the class can rest whenever they need to. I thought, "Yeah, I teach fitness classes, I tell people they can grab a drink if they need to." So I didn't think it was any different.

Jade said, "The workouts are really short, like 20 minutes." I thought, "Yeah, I teach an abs class that's 30 minutes, so yeah, I get the short workout thing."

Jade told me, "The movements are full-body, they're called 'hybrids' where you combine 2 exercises into one, like a squat with a shoulder press or a pushup with a row." I thought, "Oh, well sometimes I do burpees and they are full-body. Yeah, I get this."

And so though I was intrigued (and thought he was really hot), I didn't want to get my hopes up. Besides, I'd been working in the fitness industry since I was 15 years old, there wasn't that much that was ever "new."

So we tentatively set a time for a practice workout where Jade would take me through it. Ironically, in desperate need for participants for the class so it didn't look to me like no one was going to show up, he convinced every one of his siblings, their spouses and HIS PARENTS to come do the workout, too (now of course, they are my in-laws :)).

Long story short, the workout was game-changing. I knew it from the first 2 minutes of the class. Jade was easily the best instructor I'd ever experienced (even with no group exercise background, just personal training). And those who have been lucky enough to do an ME class with Jade know exactly what I'm talking about! And the class was like nothing I'd done before.

It was all of the things Jade told me ahead of time, but when all combined in a fast-paced metabolic conditioning workout, plus the coaching on Rest-Based Training on top of it (which I immediately "got" and was nothing like I thought it would be, and again, anyone who has done ME knows RBT is different than any other training method out there), it was insane.

I instantly fell in love with Metabolic Effect the workout, and signed on to work with the company. And of course, the love for the man came later :)

SO.

I want to give you a chance to experience Rest-Based Training for yourself! Here's a free 10-min video for you to do/watch/download. Enjoy!

And I am also writing to let you know that Jade's newest 9-DVD workout series is now available. He still remains the BEST trainer, and most motivating group instructor I've ever trained with (and I even got to be in the DVDs, so you'll see me huffing and puffing right along with you!). You'll love these workouts.

The Metabolic Aftershock workouts are only 15 minutes each, require NO equipment and can be done in your living room. Seriously, I filmed these workouts and was sore FOR DAYS. They are insane! Grab them here, they are only available for a limited time.

Let me know if you have any questions and as always, check in with me and let me know how you do with the 10 minute workout!

Much love,

Jill
